Installation And Commissioning Completed For The NKW180QT Fully Automatic PET Bottle Baler Project In Romania

Recently, our technical engineers traveled to Romania to complete the on-site installation, commissioning, and operational training for an NKW180QT fully automatic PET bottle baler at a large-scale local plastics recycling facility. The equipment has been successfully commissioned and integrated into the client’s PET bottle recycling production line. The NKW180QT is a horizontal, door-equipped automatic baler with a main cylinder force of 180 tons. It comes standard with a 12-meter infeed conveyor system, delivers a stable processing capacity of 12–15 tons per hour, and achieves a bale density of 550–650 kg/m³. The resulting bales measure 1100 × 1250 × 1600 mm and are secured with five automatic wire ties, ensuring a tight, robust bale structure that remains intact.
Equipped with a PLC-based photoelectric sensing control system, the NKW180QT automatically initiates the compression cycle once the feed hopper is full. This enables a fully automated workflow—covering infeeding, compression, automatic tying, and bale ejection—without the need for manual intervention. The system supports features such as adjustable bale length and bale counting, and includes comprehensive safety measures—including overload protection, emergency stops, and self-diagnostic fault alarms—making it well-suited for the continuous, long-term production demands of overseas facilities.

Upon arrival at the site, our engineers followed strict assembly protocols to position and level the equipment, install hydraulic piping, complete electrical wiring, and integrate the conveyor system. Given the specific local operating conditions—characterized by a heterogeneous mix of PET bottles and a high volume of hollow, uncrushed containers—the engineers fine-tuned key parameters such as hydraulic pressure, compression stroke, tying sequence, and bale counting. Through a series of no-load tests followed by multiple trial production runs with actual material, they optimized the baling performance to ensure peak efficiency. Following successful commissioning, engineers provided systematic training for on-site operators. The training covered the standard operating procedures for the NKW180QT fully automatic PET bottle baler, touchscreen parameter settings, hydraulic oil maintenance, replacement of wear parts, and troubleshooting for common issues, ensuring that staff are fully capable of operating and maintaining the equipment independently. Currently, the NKW180QT baler is operating reliably, producing neatly compacted bales. It has effectively increased the client’s capacity for recycling and processing plastic bottles while reducing storage and logistics costs—earning high praise from the client.
